The IDF announced the elimination of Ahmad Hasan, head of the sniper array in Hamas’ Beit Hanoun Battalion, who was responsible for orchestrating attacks that killed seven Israeli soldiers and seriously wounded seven others during the war.

“In response to the blatant violation of the agreement this week (Monday), the IDF eliminated the terrorist Ahmad Hasan, who took part in numerous terror attack plans against IDF forces in northern Gaza,” the military said.

Hasan was recently identified as actively working to advance additional terror attacks against Israeli troops.

According to the IDF, Hasan led the attack plan on July 7, 2025, in which five soldiers were killed and two others were seriously wounded.

He was also involved in the April 19, 2025 attack that killed another soldier and seriously wounded a tracker, a female combat officer, and a combat medic.

In a separate April 24, 2025 attack, another reservist was killed and two additional soldiers were seriously injured.

The military said Hasan’s elimination followed Hamas’ ceasefire violation earlier this week, when terrorists concealed in a tunnel in southern Gaza ambushed soldiers from the IDF’s 7th Brigade during a patrol in eastern Rafah.

The gunmen emerged from a hidden shaft and opened fire before being killed by returning Israeli fire.

“The elimination of the terrorist constitutes an important closure of the circle,” the IDF stated.

“The IDF will continue to act against any attempt by terror organizations in the Gaza Strip to carry out attack plans against IDF forces and the State of Israel.”
